The Highlands wants to be the first to wish you a fun and safe summer. We hope you’ll celebrate your time off with us at our events, but if you’ll be traveling, please be sure you pay your rent before you go and leave your apartment in good condition. We have lots of amazing events planned for this month and can’t wait for you to attend.

Maintenance Tip

Summer Tip: Never set your thermostat below 68 degrees. Doing so will cause your A/C unit to freeze, and when this happens, the A/C will not work.

Service Requests: Please make sure that you put in work orders for your apartment ASAP when you have identified a potential problem. If you have an after-hours emergency, please contact our on-call staff at (775) 770-4887.

Furry Friends: Please keep your pet on a leash and pick up their messes. This is a lease policy and also the law.

Reminders and Updates

We love having your dogs here at The Highlands, but do make sure you are cleaning up after them accordingly. We have designated dog bag stations throughout the property, so be sure to take advantage of the supplies provided.

When you have packages sent to The Highlands through the mail, make sure you have your full name (first and last) with your apartment number in the attention box. This will ensure that you receive your package. If your package needs immediate attention, please notify the staff before the shipping date so we can ensure your package is handled properly.

Summer Like a Local

Whether you’re going home or staying put for the summer, take advantage of all our community has to offer! Summers can be a great chance to enjoy the area in some new and different ways. With the hectic pace of school, many students miss out on opportunities to get involved and have fun in their local community during the academic year — it’s time to change that! From festivals to parks and local attractions, below are some ways you can summer like a local. As a bonus, most of them are either free or very affordable!

  • Do something touristy
  • Visit a farmers market
  • Check out a local sporting event
  • Visit your Chamber of Commerce website to find out about local attractions
  • Find a calendar of nearby fairs and festivals
  • Enjoy Fourth of July festivities and fireworks
  • Hike or bike a nearby trail
  • Volunteer with a local organization
  • Have a picnic
  • Go to an outdoor movie or concert
  • Run or walk a local 5K

We’ll also be planning events and activities for you throughout the summer, and if you need ideas for other fun things to do in the area, please let us know. We have information on area resources and a local calendar of events on hand to give you plenty of options. Have a memorable and fun summer!
